Actress Eliza Helm to Portray a Young Cat Grant on "Supergirl"

EW reports that actress Eliza Helm will star in the role of a young Cat Grant on the sixth and final season of "Supergirl".

A graduate from Northwestern University's theatre program, Helm has previously performed with Chicago's Second City sketch comedy group. Most recently, she was accepted into the final round of the Sundance Film Festival Episodic Labs for the pilot "Gold" which she wrote.

Helm will appear in episode 5 ("Prom Night") and episode 6 ("Prom Again!") which will feature flashbacks from Grant's early days of her career when she was known as CJ Grant.

"Eager to step out of Lois Lane's shadow and out from under her boss, Perry White's thumb, Cat chases a story to Kara's hometown of Midvale," reads the official character description. "This lead won't go as planned, but it will put her on the trajectory toward the Media Powerhouse we know and love as Cat Grant."

The media mogul role was originally portrayed by actress Calista Flockhart throughout seasons 1 & 2 but the character has not been seen since the season 3 premiere episode "Girl of Steel" in which she was revealed to now be the White House's new press secretary.

"Supergirl" returns to the CW on Tuesday, March 30th at 9:00PM.
