The now defunct Movieland Wax Museum featured a wax figue of Christopher Reeve as Superman.

When the Museum closed in 2005, about 50 of the celebrity wax figures were shipped to a sister museum in San Francisco, and 80 others went to a museum in South Korea. Most of the rest were put up for public auction in March 2006, which brought in over a million dollars.

Of these, the Christopher Reeve/Superman figure sold for $16,000 (just days after the death of Dana Reeve).

The building was demolished and replaced with "Movieland Plaza", a shopping center featuring a Best Buy store and a food court. However, there is one reminder (beyond the name) of the former museum: some of the museum's wax stars are on display (inside glass cases) at the new center, including Liz Taylor, Rudolph Valentino, Shirley Temple, Superman, Austin Powers and General George Patton - along with the museum's giant replica of Michelangelo's "David".

In April of 1971, Canada's 13th Prime Minister, the Right Honourable John George Diefenbaker, officiated at the museum's grand re-opening.

In Year 2000, the Royal London Wax Museum had an inventory of some 300 wax figures that have been sculpted in England, the most recent of which is "The woman of the Century". Decades of enhancements have gone well beyond the simple accumulation of wax figures. The multi-faceted "World of Wax" experience has been magnified not only through audio-visual technologies, but also through complementing displays such as the Crown Jewels Theatre, the World War I Field Surgical Hospital Kit, the thousand year old piece of cedar, replica sword of Genghis Khan, and original opera chairs crafted in 1987 for the Prince and Princess of Wales.
