"Zack Snyder's Justice League" will hit the silver screen for the first time in 2023 thanks to filmmaker/actor Kevin Smith who made the announcement on the latest episode of his Fatman Beyond podcast.
The theatrical debut of the film will be a part of a series of screenings and Q&A sessions called Directly Responsible: Face-to-Face With Filmmakers at Smodcastle which is Smith's 50 seat theater and podcast recording space located in Leonardo, NJ.
In regard to the upcoming screening, Smith stated, "Zack Snyder is coming in the new year, and he was like, 'I've never shown Justice League in a theater once.' So I was like, 'Brother, bring it!'"
The original debut of "Zack Snyder's Justice League" resulted from fans and members of the cast and crew petitioning Warner Bros. to release of the Snyder's original vision for the film. In February 2020, the studio announced that the original cut would be released via the streaming service HBO Max at the cost of around $70 million to complete the visual effects, score, editing, and filming of new material.
The film is dedicated to the memory of Snyder's daughter, Autumn.
