"Superman & Lois" Role of Jonathan Kent to be Recast as Jordan Elsass Leaves Series

Actor Jordan Elsass will not be returning to his starring role as Jonathan Kent on the CW series, "Superman & Lois" for the upcoming third season.

"Jordan Elsass has notified the Studio that he will not be returning to Superman & Lois for season three due to personal reasons," said Warner Bros. Television Studios in a statement Tuesday night. "The role of Jonathan Kent will be recast."

Elsass reportedly did not report back to the Vancouver set of the series by the deadline given to the cast resulting in the decision to recast his role as Jonathan Kent.

While there has not been any official comment from Elsass or his team in regard to his abrupt exit from the series, various sources have stated that the actor has been dealing with serious personal and mental health issues which the series' producers had become aware of. In addition, due to some conflicting information, it is unknown if Elsass actually left the series or was let go.

Season 3 of "Superman & Lois" will premiere in early 2023 on The CW with filming reportedly set to begin on September 9th, 2022 and lasting through April 5th, 2023.
