Superman Museum Founder Jim Hambrick to be Honored with Historic Marker Dedication

The City of Metropolis, Illinois will pay tribute to Jim Hambrick, founder of the Superman Museum, with the unveiling of an Official Historic Marker in recognition of his remarkable contributions to preserving the legacy of the Man of Steel.
Hambrick, who passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, dedicated his life to celebrating all things Superman. In the early 1990s, he brought his passion to Metropolis, helping transform the city into a beloved destination for Superman fans and pop culture enthusiasts. The establishment of the Superman Museum in 1993, which home to one of the world's largest collections of Superman memorabilia, has played a key role in keeping both the character's legacy and the city's unique connection to the iconic superhero alive.
The unveiling ceremony will take place at 9:15 AM on Friday, June 13th, at the Superman Museum, immediately following the opening ceremony of the Superman Celebration at the Superman Statue. Fans, friends, and community members are all invited to attend. A special video tribute will be shown under the Metro Tent following the dedication.
