Attendees at CinemaCon in Las Vegas received a surprise video message yesterday from director James Gunn during the Warner Bros. panel in which he revealed that the cast of "Superman" will be appearing at next years CinemaCon to "kick off the summer of Superman."

In addition to Gunn, actors David Corenswet (Superman/Clark Kent) and Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) also appeared in the message where they jokingly shared a "spoiler" for the film stating, "Can we disclose something? There's a man in a cape. Yes, there's at least one man in a cape. Here they heard it first."

To wrap up the video, a first full look at the new Superman "S" shield was revealed which featured a red and gold version of the iconic emblem very similar to the version from the 1996 "Kingdom Come" comic book miniseries by writer Mark Waid and artist Alex Ross.

"Superman" tells the story of Superman's journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.

In addition to Corenswet and Brosnahan, the film stars Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, María Gabriela De Faría as The Engineer, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and model Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher.

"Superman" is currently scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
