Heroes & Villains Compete in Annual Superman Celebration Costume Contest

A yearly tradition to close out the annual Superman Celebration in Metropolis, IL is the always popular costume contest and this year featured quite as assortment of costumed heroes and villains.
As opposed to most years, the weather was extremely comfortable for both the talented participants as well as audience members who packed the seats under the massive Metro Tent.
Judges this year were Trevor Hawkins, Jim Hall and Mark LeMieux while the contest was hosted by the delightful Mendy Harris who also does a great job at the Chamber of Commerce.
In all, 16 individuals participated in this years contest including Jamie Kelley as Deadpool; Deborah Yarks, Gail Scelza and Rikki Meyer as Superman's Godmothers; Shawn Kline as Old Man Logan (Wolverine); Kasey Koch as Superman; Tiffany Kresse as Bombshell Mera (Aquawoman); Aloura Griffiths and William Griffiths as Justice League Dark Zatanna and Hal Jordan/Green Lantern; Kieth Alvey Bucky Barns/Winter Soldier; Christopher Simpson as Shazam Prime; Rob Erlenbush as Skeletor; Will Weiss as Major Steve Trevor from Wonder Woman: Season One; Tara Shea Bohannon as Supergirl; Jared Ponton as Scarecrow; and John Gleckler as The Doctor Mad Pool.
Following an initial round of voting which narrowed the contestant field down to 11 finalists, Jamie Kelley as Deadpool was selected as the overall winner.
This was a nice ending to a really great Superman Celebration and I cannot wait until next year's festival to once again be entertained by a super talented of friends and fans.
