Supergirl Set Photo Reveals Tyler Hoechlin in Black Superman Suit
by Neil ColeThe CW's annual Arrowverse crossover event - officially titled "Elseworlds" - will take place this December and feature characters from Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl.
Adding some hype for the crossover, "Arrow" star Stephen Amell recently took to Twitter and posted a photo from the set featuring himself, "Flash" star Grant Gustin, and actor Tyler Hoechlin wearing a black suit version of the iconic Superman costume.
Considering the overall premise of this year's crossover event, the black suit could indicate that Hoechlin will be playing an alternate version of the Man of Steel similar to the tyrannical Lord Superman character that was featured in the "Justice League" animated series two-part episode, "A Better World".
It's also possible that the suit could be a nod to the "Death of Superman" storyline arc from DC Comics that saw a resurrected Superman don a black suit which allowed him to absorb the yellow rays of Earth's sun at a quicker rate and regain his powers.
The "Elseworlds" crossover event will introduce both Ruby Rose's Batwoman and Elizabeth Tulloch's Lois Lane and kicks off with "The Flash" on Sunday, December 9th at 8:00pm ET, then continues with "Arrow" on Monday, December 10th at 8:00pm ET, and concludes with "Supergirl" on Tuesday, December 11th at 8:00pm ET.
