The historic Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA will present a special 40th Anniversary screening of the 1978 blockbuster film, "Superman: The Movie" on Thursday, July 12th at 7:30 PM.
With his planet doomed, Kryptonian scientist, Jor-El, sends his infant son to Earth. When his space ship crash lands in a field, farmers Jonathan & Martha Kent take young Clark in and raise him as their own. As he matures, Clark realizes that he has abilities unlike anyone else. Deciding to use his powers for the greater good of mankind, he moves to Metropolis where he not only becomes a reporter for the Daily Planet, but finds his calling in the persona of Superman. Clark’s challenges quickly mount in the form of natural disasters, fellow reporter Lois Lane, and criminal mastermind Lex Luthor, who is planning the greatest real estate heist in history, no matter the cost. In order to succeed Clark must truly embrace becoming the Man of Steel.
