The second weekend in June is devoted to the legendary character that stands for “Truth, Justice and the American Way” each year in Metropolis, Illinois. But Superman is always kind enough to share the spotlight with a few others as well.

2009 was a banner year for Metropolis, Illinois' Superman Celebration, and the bar was set pretty high for a stellar lineup of events, activities, and guests. People have been asking just how can Metropolis top 2009's guest lineup that included Smallville stars Justin Hartley and Phil Morris, The Adventures of Superman star (and first lady of Metropolis) Noel Neill, and Superman and the Mole Men star Beverly Washburn, as well as comics superstars such as Wonder Woman writer Gail Simone, legendary DC writer John Ostrander, Green Arrow artist Mike Norton, and Mail Order Ninja and Batman writer Josh Elder. Along with a great group of independent comics creators and artists, events like the Fan Film Competition, dance party, film screenings, musical acts, and more, just how in the world can Metropolis possibly top 2009?

Well hang on to your hats, because there is a whole lot in store for 2010 which has been officially scheduled for June 10 - 13.

Between now and May, there will be the revealing of special guests, exciting events, and a whole lot more about the City of Metropolis, Illinois' Superman Celebration.

Entry information will be available at the Chamber of Commerce (607 Market Street) on Friday and Saturday.

The stakes are high, and if your costume ($25 Entry Fee) is the most heroic you could fly away with $1000! Our judges will be looking for the best of the best, and one lucky winner will walk away with the grand prize.
