Coveroo & DC Comics Announce Contest for Fans to Design a Vision of the 21st Century Justice League
Warner Bros. Fan Art Challenge Designed to Transform the Way Fans and Artists Interact With Brands They Love
Coveroo, Inc., a software platform that strives to build brands big and small through customized products, and DC Comics/Warner Bros. announced today the launch of a contest that encourages independent artists from around the world to make their mark on one of the most iconic brands in the entertainment industry.
The competition challenges artists to create a design inspired by the Justice League. Contestants must submit an original design to be optimized for a mobile device case. Unlike other crowdsourced contests sponsored by a major brand, this is the first contest to require the use of wholly original art, rather than merely reusing existing brand marks, characters and other imagery.
"This contest reflects DC Comics' interest in absorbing the passion and talent of this particular fan community," said Peter Tomassi, head of marketing and product at Coveroo. "While fan art exists all over the internet, almost none of it has been created with the support and encouragement of brands. The competition is the first in a series of Coveroo events and platforms to enable independent designers and their favorite brands to collaborate in ways never possible before."
The prize package is valued at more than $4,000 and includes a first-place cash prize, credits for Coveroo.com, limited edition custom watches from Modify Watches and more.
The contest officially begins Dec. 12th. To enter, artists may visit Coveroo for a list of submission guidelines and rules.
"Both Coveroo and DC Comics welcome fans' participation in the evolution of these characters and look forward to reviewing the many new visions of the Justice League," added Tomassi.
