In a recent interview with Digital Spy about the release of his film "Mad Max: Fury Road" on Bluray and DVD, director George Miller confirmed that he has had conversations with Warner Bros about taking on a DC Comics project but it will not be at any point in the immediate future.
"I hope the next film I make is a very small film," stated Miller. "Without any special effects and not many stunts."
Miller's statement certainly takes him in the opposite direction of helming any DC based property or a follow-up to "Fury Road" any time soon.
The director was previously attached to direct the failed 2007 Justice League movie with a script by Kieran and Michele Mulroney. The film would have starred DJ Cotrona as Superman/Clark Kent, Armie Hammer as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Adam Brody as Barry Allen/The Flash, rapper Common as John Stewart/Green Lantern, and Australian model Megan Gale as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.
Warner Bros. ultimately shut down the project in 2008 citing a lack of tax breaks and the writer's strike as the main reasons it pulled the plug. A new documentary is currently in the works which will take an in depth look at the film.
