August 31, 2017: Melissa Benoist to Voice Evil Version of Supergirl "Freedom Fighters: The Ray"

Actress Melissa Benoist will voice the role of Overgirl - the evil, Earth-X version of Kara Zor-El - in the upcoming animated series "Freedom Fighters: The Ray" which is scheduled to air later this Fall on The CW's digital production arm, CW Seed.

Taking place on an alternate Earth-X – a world where the Nazis won World War II – "Freedom Fighters: The Ray" follows the character of Ray and his friends fighting against Nazi-aligned versions of popular Arrowverse Heroes including Green Arrow, Flash and Kara Zor El, for the freedom of the world.

"Melissa is so sweet, and so is her interpretation of Supergirl," stated Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim in an interview with TV Insider. "It was fun to hear her voice records and see she's capable of a darkness. I think she really enjoyed playing the bad guy for a bit!"
