Executive Producer Greg Berlanti has announced that there will be a crossover musical episode of "Supergirl" and "The Flash" coming to The CW Network in 2017 during the latter half of both series' upcoming seasons.
Both series certainly have quite their share of musical talent including former "Glee" co-stars Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin as well as Broadway veterans Jeremy Jordan, Laura Benanti, Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, and Carlos Valdes.
"Yes, there will be a musical crossover. There's going to be a musical pair of episodes in the back half of the year between Supergirl and Flash," stated Berlanti during a panel discussion at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
"We have a number of people who can sing across all the shows who will be making some very exciting appearances in the back half of the year."
Details for the musical crossover event are still in the planning stages with Berlanti stating via Twitter that he is "happy to take requests throughout the year" for which songs will be featured in the episode.
"The Flash" premieres on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 at 8:00PM (EST) on The CW while "Supergirl - Season 2" premieres a week later on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 8:00PM (EST).
