July 31, 2014: "Adventures of Superman" Writer Wilton Schiller Passes Away

Wilton Schiller, who wrote for such classic TV series as "The Adventures of Superman," "Lassie," and "Adam 12", has passed away at the age of 95.

According to his wife of 39 years, writer-producer Patricia Payne Schiller, Schiller died peacefully on Sunday at his home in Studio City, CA.

In additon to the various programs which Schiller wrote for, he also co-produced the climactic final season of the ABC drama "The Fugitive," including the series finale in 1967 which was viewed by more than 78 million and shattered all previous television records.

Survivors include his wife Patricia; nephew Roger; grandnephews Neal, Paul and Scott; cousins Michael and Arthur; second cousins Joyce, Laura, Russell, David, Bruce, Elliot, Dan, Alan and Laurence; grandson Dorian; and great granddaughter Julia.

In lieu of a funeral service, the family is asking that donations be made to Doctors Without Borders or to a favorite charity.
