July 30, 2010: New DC Comics Series a Possibilty

by Neil Cole

At the Television Critic's Association press tour, Entertainment President of the CW Dawn Ostroff told reporters that the network is considering adapting another DC Comics superhero for television after Smallville wraps up it's final season.

"We have started to talk about if there are other DC comic book adaptations," she revealed. "We haven't picked anything else up to develop yet, [but] we would like to see something on the air, so we're going to work on it."

A spinoff from Smallville is also a possibility.

"We are talking about everything," she said. "The characters are there. We're looking at the DC library. There are different parts of the puzzle. At the end of the day, I would love to be able to say that Smallville is going off the air and now we have something else is coming on."

The tenth and final season of "Smallville" premieres Friday, September 24 at 8PM (EST) on The CW.
