July 26, 2016: "Bane v Superman: The Movie" Fan Film

Posted by Neil Cole

"Bane v Superman: The Movie" is truly the ultimate fan film. Batman and Superman movie aficionados will note an influence, homage, continuation and or other elements of every major canon release from 1978 to 2013.

Lois Lane covers a story that spans from Gotham City to Metropolis to Smallville. Bane has recently vanquished Batman while the Joker and Harley Quinn have betrayed Lex Luthor while acquiring the control to neutralize Superman's powers. Bane and Superman must now fight to the death with Lana Lang's life hanging in the balance.

"Bane v Superman: The Movie" is essentially a unique cross-section, character driven, hybrid adventure - primarily consisting of inspiration from the Richard Donner Superman movies combined with a synthesis of Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan's Batman films (with a hint of the Schumacher and Lester stuff and a bit of the first Snyder effort, not to mention Batman the Animated series and the comic books themselves). It's a celebration of much that has lead up to the new movies of this year and it's also an enjoyable summation of something special that ardent fans will appreciate and perhaps it's also a fun revelation for new fans that aren't as familiar with the classics. The presupposition of heightened hyperbole and heroic superlatives aside, it's basically a simple and easy blend of comic book familiarity and everyone involved in the film's creation hope fans enjoy it.
