The Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic Con has wrapped and fans were treated to a teaser trailer of "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" and a first look at actress Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
The panel took place in Hall H at the convention and kicked off with moderator Chris Hardwick dressed as Marty McFly from "Back to the Future" taking the stage followed shortly thereafter by "Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder.
Synder stated, "Yeah, hey! How's it going? So we were shooting last night, I jumped on a plane to come here this morning. I couldn't be happier with the way everything is going. Normally when people come to these things, they bring SOME shots, SOME footage or something, but we're shooting right now! Okay, okay, we have a teeny little thing!"
That "teeny little thing" wound up being the very first official footage from "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" in the form of a short teaser sequence from the movie.
The sequence featured Batman in full Frank Miller heavy-duty armor on a dark and rain-soaked rooftop where he pulls back a tarp covering the Bat-signal. Upon lighting it, Superman is revealed to be floating in the sky. His eyes glow red indicating that he is clearly not in a good mood. The camera then reverts back to Batman's face whose eyes are now glowing white.
The capacity crowd went absolutely crazy and erupted in cheers and applause as Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot then took to the stage in front of thousands of fans.
Snyder then revealed the first ever look of Gadot as Wonder Woman (pictured at above right) alongside the previously released images of Cavill as Superman and Affleck as Batman.
Unfortunately, the trio of actors did not have an opportunity to talk to the crowd because Snyder didn't want them to spill any secrets about the highly anticipated film.
The "Dawn of Justice" footage was then shown one more time as Snyder, Cavill, Affleck, and Gadot exited the stage.
"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is scheduled to open worldwide on May 6, 2016, and is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.
