During the recent "Smallville" panel at San Diego Comic-Con, fans were treated to a trailer for the upcoming third season of the hit CW series which featured first looks at actress Erica Durance ("Smallville") in the recently recast role of Alura Zor-El and actress Odette Annable ("House") as the villain Reign.
Other new season three cast members were announced during the panel including actor Adrian Pasdar ("Heroes", "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.") who will be joining the show as Morgan Edge, a charming yet ruthless real estate developer who has big plans for National City which results in him being at odds with both Supergirl and Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath).
In addition to Reign will be the psychic villain Psi played by actress Yael Grobglas ("Jane the Virgin") who has the power to use an individuals own mind against them.
DC Comics veteran actor Carl Lumbly will also be joining the cast as M'yrnn J'onnz who is not only J'onn J'onnz's father, but also a peaceful religious leader on Mars who "pushes his son in unexpected ways." Lumbly should settle quite easily into the new role as he previously voiced Martian Manhunter "Justice League" animated series.
Rounding out the new cast members is newcomer Emma Tremblay ("Elysium") who will play Ruby, an intelligent kid from National City whose fan-girl fascination with the Supergirl may land her in some dangerous situations.
The third season of "Supergirl" premieres on Monday, October 9th at 8:00PM (EST) on The CW.
