July 23, 2014: Sideshow Collectibles and DC Comics' Heroic Alliance Continues

Posted by Neil Cole

In July of 2011, amidst the excitement of San Diego Comic-Con, Sideshow Collectibles thrilled Con attendees by announcing the beginning of a new heroic alliance. Joining forces with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) and DC Entertainment, Sideshow gave fans a first look at a signature line of collectibles inspired by DC Comics, beginning with The Joker Premium Format Figure.

Sideshow has been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm for our growing collection of statues and figures depicting revered DC Comics Super Heroes and Super-Villains, including Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Catwoman, and Wonder Woman, as well as items inspired by theatrical releases, such as Batman (1989), Superman (1978), and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Man of Steel. Today, we are pleased to share that Sideshow and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, have extended their partnership with a new multi-year agreement.

“The partnership we have formed with Warner Bros. has been truly rewarding,” said Greg Anzalone, President of Sideshow Collectibles. “Our passion for developing collectible figures against the timeless DC Comics brand is well matched by Warner Bros.’ continued support and faith in our company and our products.”

With the future wide open, and fans hungry for more, Sideshow’s creative team gears up for the next round of celebrated icons. Coming soon are the Lobo Premium Format™ Figure, Catwoman Legendary Scale™ Figure, and a collection inspired by the smash-hit Batman: Arkham video game series from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

“The opportunity to translate DC Comics titans from the vast pantheon of World’s Greatest Super-Heroes into amazing figural representations continues to be a satisfying challenge,” says Sideshow’s Creative Director, Tom Gilliland. “We especially can’t wait to dive into their new films. It’s a very exciting time to be part of the DC Comics universe.”
