July 23, 2011: Henry Cavill Talks "Man of Steel"

"Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill spoke about his starring role in the Zack Snyder Superman reboot during the "Immortals" panel at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con.

When asked about the film's release date being pushed back 6 months, MTV reports that Cavill stated, "They broke it to me gently. I was just told the other day. It's OK, it's nothing to do with me. That's stuff which I have no control over. I just focus on the character and do my job."

Although Cavill remained relatively tight-lipped about the upcoming film, he did state that the story is "one of the best scripts I've ever read."

He went on to say that he's "prepared enough" but anxious to start production. "I'm really raring to go," stated Cavill. "It's exciting, humbling, and about time to get started."

"You make a choice," he said of his conscious decision to take on the iconic role knowing there's bound to be baggage the follows. "Whether you focus on the - and I hate the word, celebrity aspect or not — I have chosen not to [think about that]. I know I can't make everyone happy."

"Man of Steel" is set to begin filming in the coming weeks in Plano, IL and will fly into theaters on Friday, June 14, 2013.
