July 22, 2015: "Superman: II" Outdoor Screening in Central Park, NYC

The NYC Central Park Conservancy will host a special outdoor screening of the 1981 blockbuster, "Superman: II" as part of their 2015 Film Festival on Saturday, August 29th at 8:00PM, rain or shine.

Directed by Richard Lester, the film stars Golden Globe-nominee Christopher Reeve ("The Remains of the Day", "Deathtrap") in his second starring role as the Man of Steel alongside Academy Award-winner Gene Hackman ("The Birdcage", "Unforgiven"), Margot Kidder ("Amityville Horror") as Lois Lane, Ned Beatty ("Deliverance") as Otis, Sarah Douglas ("Conan The Destroyer") as Ursa, Jack O'Halloran ("Dragnet") as Non, and Academy Award-nominees Valerie Perrine ("ER") and Terence Stamp ("The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert").

This sequel to the box office smash, "Superman: The Movie" continues the great adventures of the Man of Steel as Superman enters the battle of his life when he fights to save the planet Earth from three intergalactic arch-criminals whose powers are as fantastic as his own. Spectacular action, unlimited surprises abound, as Superman again faces a cosmic confrontation between good and evil. Amidst it all is the will-they-or-won't-they romance of the ever-flirtatious Lois 'n Clark.

The film will be closed captioned and shown in the landscape north of Sheep Meadow, beside the cafe (mid-Park at 69th Street). Attendees are asked to enter Central Park at 72nd Street.

The screening is free and gates open to the public at 6:30PM. A DJ will perform from 6:30PM to 8:00PM. For more information, please visit CentralParkNYC.org.
