July 21, 2017: Cleveland Library to Host "Superman: Heroes and Illustration - An Event"

The main branch of the Cleveland, Ohio Public Library will host a special event titled "Superman: Heroes and Illustration" on Saturday, August 19th at 1:00pm.

The event will take place in the North Reading Room on the 1st floor of the library and feature panelists from the Great Lakes Chapter of the National Cartoonists Society in a panel presentation about illustrating super heroes.

Panelists scheduled to appear include:

  • Craig Boldman – Illustrator and writer for Superman, Archie comics and his own Tailipoe comic series
  • Chip Sansom – Cartoonist of the syndicated cartoon strip The Born Loser
  • Terri Libenson – Creator of the syndicated cartoon strip The Pajama Diaries
  • Mark Szorady – Creator for the syndicated cartoon strip George
  • Polly Keener – Creator of the cartoon strip Hamster Alley
  • Ron Hill – Editorial cartoonist and caricaturist
  • Ed Black – Cartoon writer and researcher
  • After the panel discussion, guests are invited to a guided tour of the exhibit, "Superman From Cleveland to Krypton" (on view until December 31, 2017).
