Alexandra Reeve Givens, daughter of late "Superman" actor Christopher Reeve, has named her first newborn son Christopher Russel Reeve Givens in memory of her father.
"He was named after his grandfathers on each side," stated a family representative to People magazine. "The entire family is thriving during their first few weeks home."
Givens is the daughter of Reeve and Gae Exton and works as a lawyer in the U.S. Senate and as an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School. Her husband is Garren Givens whom she met while the two were both studying at Yale University.
Her late father, Christopher Reeve, was paralyzed as the result of a riding accident during an equestrian competition in 1995. Together with his wife Dana, the couple created the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation which is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury.
Reeve passed away at the age of 52 on October 10th, 2004.
