May 15, 2012: Superhero Marathon Seeks Costumed Runners

Runners across the nation are being encouraged to don their favorite superhero costume and come out for the the 3rd Annual Superhero Half Marathon and Relay.

The race will take place on Sunday, May 20th in Morris Township, NJ with proceeds benefiting the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.

Participants will race through the beautiful, well-shaded country roads of Morris and Harding townships and pass plenty of water stations and cheering spectators.

Prior to the start of the race, all participants will receive a wicking technical t-shirt and goody-bag. At the end of the race, runners will be treated to a high-quality finisher's medal and a buffet of carbo-rich snacks. In addition, special prizes will be given out for the best superhero costumes.

Last year's Superhero Half had over 1,500 runners and the 2012 race should exceed 2,000. In the coming years, organizers expect the race to grow to epic proportions.
