April 28, 2015: Helen Slater Talks New 'Supergirl' TV Series

In a recent interview with Telegram.com, former Supergirl actress Helen Slater discussed the upcoming TV series based on the iconic character in which she will guest-star in a yet-to-be-confirmed role. Here's an excerpt from the article:

"I'm in the pilot and I have a contract as a guest star, which means they can use me as much as they want," said Slater, who is as lovely as ever. "It's all hush, hush."

This is not Slater's first return to the Superman universe.

"I did do "Smallville," you know," Slater interjected, referring to her role as Superman's birth mother, Lara, on the long-running WB/CW drama "Smallville." "So I have been in the Superman universe, partially. I can't get out of it."

"Greg Berlanti does 'The Flash' and 'Arrow.' He's such a smart writer," Slater said. "It was such a joy to do the pilot. My fingers are crossed that it goes well because they have a great cast. The girl playing Supergirl, Melissa Benoist, is fantastic."

"Supergirl" is scheduled to premiere this Fall and will be executively-produced & written by "Arrow" and "Flash" executive producer Greg Berlanti and "New Normal's" Ali Adler along with Sarah Schechter.
