The Intrepid Theatre Club in Victoria, British Columbia will present a theatrical stage production of "The Adventures of Superman" radio program episode, "Batman's Great Mystery" at 8PM on April 18th & 19th.
The production features Superman and Robin searching for Batman who has mysteriously gone missing. While based on the February, 1948 radio program episode, the stage adaptation of the episode has been revamped with quite a bit of humor being added in.
"People can expect to see the actors having fun and playing around with each other," states stage manager, Theodore Sherman in an interview with the Nexus Newspaper. "It's a silly Superman adventure that, while I don’t know how it was originally received in the '40s, is hard to take the issues they are looking at seriously, which makes us laugh a lot."
"The Adventures of Superman" radio play is resented by SNAFU Dance Theatre & This Is Twisted Theatre and features performances by Sarah Jane Pelzer, Ryan Bagma, Rod Peter Jr, Ingrid Hansen, Victor Dolhai, Richard Gauthier, & Chris Coolie.
Tickets for the two-night production are $15 each with proceeds from the play going towards an upcoming tour of the theatrical production, "Kitt & Jane."
