April 1, 2015: "Lois Lane: Fallout" Young Adult Novel Coming May 1st

Switch Press, the new young adult imprint from Capstone Young Readers, announces the May 1, 2015 release of the novel "Lois Lane: Fallout" by Gwenda Bond. A spunky teenage Lois Lane steps out from behind SUPERMAN™’s shadow in this fast-paced, high-adrenaline tale of intrigue and bravery. The Lois Lane series is produced through Capstone Young Readers’ licensing partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment.

Lois Lane is one of the most iconic characters in the world, with an appeal spanning generations. The character has been featured in a number of comics, films, and TV shows over the years, and most recently was featured in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Man of Steel. The novel, Lois Lane: Fallout, will appeal to the huge fan base of these media as well as young adults everywhere trying to fit in and make a place for themselves.

“Lois Lane has always been a strong presence in Super Hero lore. We’re excited that Gwenda will bring her to life in a whole new way for another generation of fans. Lois is the kind of interesting, adventure-prone character who needs to have her story told,” said Ashley Andersen Zantop, Capstone Group Publisher and General Manager.

In Fallout, Gwenda Bond reimagines Lois as a contemporary teenager at the beginning of her journalism career – and at the beginning of her relationship with a certain, also-iconic mystery man. This story puts Lois at the center, where she belongs, fighting to protect those who need it and to get at the truth no matter what it takes.

In Lois Lane: Fallout, Lois starts a new life in Metropolis. An Army brat, Lois has lived all over—and seen all kinds of disasters. But now her family is putting down roots in the big city, and Lois is determined to fit in, to stay quiet, to fly straight. As soon as she steps into her new high school, though, she can see it won’t be that easy. A group known as the Warheads is making life miserable for another girl at school – messing with her mind, somehow, via the high-tech immersive videogame they all play. Armed with her wit and her new snazzy job as a reporter, Lois sets out to solve this mystery, but sometimes it’s all a bit much. Thank goodness for her maybe-more-than-a-friend, a guy she knows only by his screen name SmallvilleGuy.
