During a recent appearance on the Howard Stern Show, "Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston put to rest the one-time rumors that he had been cast as Lex Luthor in the 2016 follow-up to "Man of Steel."
"In the minds of fans, it's true," Cranston told Stern. "In the minds of the hierarchy of Warner Brothers, it's not true."
Cranston added that he never - to his knowledge - was ever considered for the Luthor role stating, "I was not involved in any of that whatsoever."
When asked by Robin Quivers, Stern's colleague, if the job would've have been "a 20" (a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity), Cranston stated "that would've been a 20; I think so!"
Ultimately, actor Jesse Eisenberg was cast in the role of the Man of Steel's iconic adversary and will co-star alongside Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent and Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne.
The yet-to-be-officially-titled film is set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016, and is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.
